TRAINING IN COOKING
New Section For Workshop The Canterbury Sheltered Workshop Association is to add a cookery training section to its workshop in Antigua ■street The association’s president (Mr E. R. Clark) said yesterday that arrangements had been made for the section to be built as soon as possible. Although-many of the girls at the workshop had learnt cooking at the schools, the present facilities at the workshop were not adequate for .its instruction, he said*. - It was hoped that the girls, with the new cookery section, would be • able to provide afternoon tea and, ultimately, meals for other members of the workshop, Mr Clark said. When the section was completed the association would be grateful for any help in providing • furniture and equipment such as saucepans, he said. Tonight the workshop will hold its first social evening for members and parents. If it is a success it may become a regular event At present there are 40 members attending the workshop.
