“Logical” Step By Masons (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 1. Directors of Mason Bros., Ltd., considered that the acquisition of Andersons, Ltd., of Christchurch, was a logical and worth-while step in the company’s development, the deputy-chairman (Mr C. M. Richwhite) told the annual meeting. Andersons was a major South Island manufacturer and merchant, he said. Merchant activities of both Mesco and Riddells are continuing at a most satisfactory level, said Mr Richwhite. Contract work of Mason Bros, for the period AprilJune had been at a lower level than in the corresponding period of last year, but there had been a substantial improvement in the order book in recent weeks.
Pye Ind. Has Profit Fall Consolidated net profit of Pye Industries, Ltd., Sydney, fell by £34,288 to £294,221 in the year March 31. This follows a jump of £164,721 for the previous year. The latest profit Is after tax £180,474 (down £141,797); and depreciation £103,908 (down £5245). Ordinary 'dividend, not including the recent one-for-four issue, is steady at 10 per cent, and requires £72,550.
