FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred over the western Tasman Sea is moving eastwards and a trough of low pressure is moving eastwards off the North Island. Forecast:
Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury, about and north of Banks Peninsula. —Southerly winds predominating, decreasing showers, otherwise partly cloudy; temperatures cold. Canterbury, south of Banks Peninsula. — Light southerly winds; fine, but cold. Central Marlborough.—Moderate variable winds; scattered showers about the eastern hills, otherwise partly cloudy, but cold. Marlborough Sounds.—Decreasing southerlies; showery, but fair periods; temperatures cold. Nelson and West Coast.—Moderate variable southerlies; scattered showers about the ranges, otherwise mainly fine; temperatures cold. Outlook all districts: mainly fine. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
