New Harbour Bridge Plan
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 31. The construction of a road linking western Auckland with the North Shore by a two-lane bridge across an upper' arm of the Waitemata harbour has been prepared by the Waitemata County Council. It would cost £4,120,000. The council chairman (Mr W. B. Souter) said today that the plan was not being submitted as an alternative to the proposed widening of the harbour bridge. The road would go from Hobsonvllle to link with the North Shore motorway. ■
Minor Injuries.—When a United States Navy truck and a van collided at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Seiwyn street at 11.48 a.m. yesterday, the van driver, Mr B G. Kinzett, of 26 Springhill street, suffered slight injuries. He did not require hospital treatment.
