FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred northeast of New Zealand is moving away to the east; a cold front is moving north-eastwards over the south of the South Island and is followed by a change to cooler south-westerlies. Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.—Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds; partly, cloudy at first, but a change to fresh southerlies in the afternoon, with cool, showery weather. Outlook: scattered showers. Central Marlborough, the Sounds and Nelson. —Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds, cloudy, scattered showers and a change to fresh southerlies, with further showers and cool temperatures. Outlook: becoming partly cloudy. Buller and Westland.—Moderate to fresh northwesterlies, decreasing and becoming variable; showery at first, but clearing and the weather becoming fine; temperatures cool. Outlook: fine.
