CHESHIRE HOME IN INDIA
Christchurch Aid A branch committee in Christchurch of the recentlyestablished Ryder Cheshire Foundation has been formed. Those on the committee include representatives of several welfare organisations and other interested groups. The main' object of the foundation is to assist. in whatever way possible the Raphael Home, in India for the destitute and suffering founded by Group Captain Leonard Cheshire, V.C. Contributions to the foundation are urgently required and already a trust fund has been established. Donations are at present being accepted by the city treasurer (Mr L. A. G. Rich). The members of the committee are: The Mayor, Mr G. Manning (patron), Messrs D. Barrett (chairman), I. McW. Harkness (secretarytreasurer), J. A. Strassmeyer (publicity officer), P. P. J. Amodeo, R. C. Day, S. L. Dodwell, S. J. Parker, and J. Whitfield. Dr. J. M. O’Brien, Dr. E. B. Reilly, Mesdames R. C. Day and M. K. Lauchland, and Misses S. Britton and E. L. Todd.
