FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A south-westerly airstream covers New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury, Marlborough Sounds and the Kaikoura Coast.—Light to moderate variable winds; a few showers in the east at first, otherwise partly cloudy; temperatures rather cool, with some severe frosts in sheltered inland places of Canterbury. Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Light variable winds; showers about the western ranges; elsewhere cloudy at first, but becoming fine; temperatures cool. Buller and Westland.—Moderate to fresh west to south-west winds; partly cloudy and cold, with scattered showers, especially in Buller. Outlook.—All districts: partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
