Table Tennis Title To Selwyn Team

Selwyn II won the 1964 senior table tennis competitions when it defeated Avonside during the final round. This gave the team a clear two point lead over its nearest rival, the 1963 winner, Wallabies Red.

T. R. D. Flint (Selwyn), who has now retired, was hindered with a back injury and lost to M. Flewellen and Chin Sin Pin but played well to beat J. Pierce. Wallabies Red scored a narrow, 7-5, victory over Selwyn I notwithstanding the three brilliant singles wins of V. N. Brightwell for the Selwyn side. N. B. Radford, M. A. Cox and R. J. Scott won two matches each for Walla-, bies although hard pressed by R. J. Sanderson and Mrs T. May.
