NO DC6B SERVICE

Application Withdrawn (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 27. South Pacific Airlines of New Zealand today withdrew its application to the Air Services Licensing Authority to run a DC6B on the Auck-land-Wellington - Christchurch trunk routes. The acting-chairman and general manager of S.P.A.N.Z., Captain R. D. Daniell, said this decision had been taken because of Ansett Transport Industries’ withdrawal from the company. S.P.A.N.Z. still wanted to introduce on its DC3 services’ economy fares 25 per cent less than those now charged on the Auckland-Wellinglon-Christchurch route.

He said S.P.A.N.Z. would no* object if N.A.C. applied for the same fare concessions on its DC3 services.
