Television.—The board accepted with appreciation gifts of television sets for Coronation Hospital from the Cancer Society and the Tuberculosis Association. Wool Skins.— Provision is to be made in the estimates programme for fleece-lined protectors to prevent bed sores on patients’ elbows, heels, and feet at Coronation Hospital and Jubilee Home. Chapel.— The board will strongly support the proposal that a chapel be erected at Coronation Hospital, financed from gifts. Toys.—A television set, see, saws, a sandpit and two tricycles are to be provided from trust funds for the children’s ward at Christchurch Hospital. Tennis Courts.—Approval was ’ given for volunteers to build a tennis court at Oxfo <1 Hospital.
Conference.—Dr. L. C. L, Averill, chairman of the board, is to attend the seventh Australian obstetricians’ and gynaecologists’ conference at Brisbane on September 19. Dental Fees.—The board is investigating a possible increase in dental department charges.
