Moon Surface Training
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TESTBEND (Oregon), August 25. The astronaut Walter Cunningham, and two apace engineers yesterday began four days of walking, climbing and digging in the jagged rocks and plain of central Oregon’s remote lava beds.
They will test how well men can be expected to perform tasks on the moon's surface, which scientists believe the area resembles.
Two Sail-Planes. The launching of two high-per-formance sail-planes by one aircraft, reported as having been carried out by instructors of the Tauranga Gliding Club, is not new to members of the Wellington and Walrarapa Gliding Club. The club experimented successfully last May in towing two gliders with one Tiger Moth.— (PA.)
