OAMARU TRUST
Profit Of £37,040 (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 25. A gross profit of £113,400 for the year ending March 31, which is a rise of £37,000 on the figure for the previous year, is shown in the annual report of the Oamaru Licensing Trust tabled in Parliament today, Net profit for the year was £37,040 before provision .for taxation, which absorbed £17,980. Expenses and overhead increased from £45,160 in the previous year to £68,053. Receipts amounted to £385,685, comprising £359,893 in liquor sales, £23,419 in board and residence, £2090 in rents, £lB9 in bar meals, and £94 in licence fees.
The inaugural meeting of the Oamaru Licensing Trust was held on January 16, 1962; Last year was the first full year’s trading for the Brydone Hotel and Tavern, which accounted for the increase in wages and salaries. The chairman (Mr K. B. McDiarmid) describes the year as one of steady progress and consolidation.
