One-Act Plays

The W.E.A. Dramatic Society and the Little Theatre will present three one-act plays on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the W.E.A. Hall.

“High on a Hilltop” will be presented by The Little Theatre which won the Muirhead Trophy, at the recent British Drama League festival. This is one of the two plays chosen to go forward to the divisional finals at Timaru on Saturday. It is a New Zealand play written by Iris Thomas, and it is produced by Alex Aitchison. The second play of the evening will be “Words with a Murderer.” by Harold Pointer who is also the producer. A comedy will end the evening, “Poor Mr Shakespeare,” by Joy Anderson, produced by Mary Lawden. This play won the Crosbie Trophy for the best performance of a comedy at the recent B.D.L. festival.
