D. V. Carnegie Dies
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright J LONDON, August 4. A war-time director of flying training at the Air Ministry, Air Vice-Marshal David Vaughan Carnegie, died yesterday at his Peterborough home. He was aged 67. He retired from the Royal Air Force in 1953 after three years as Chief of Air Staff of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Air Marshal Carnegie became flying training director in 1942, and in 1945 headed the British air mission to Canada.
He was a C. 8., received the C.B.E. and the A.F.C., and was a member of the Queen’s bodyguard for Scotland.
