Cancer
Sir, —G. E. Robinson writes that he feels that the cancer problem is in the hands of the individual and that another generation will put a short end to it, but not this one. Why not this one? The individual could put an end to it in this generation if enough to them wished to become informed as to the real reason why some races are absolutely cancer-free and some are not. Your correspondent mentioned Sir Robert McCorrison, who was stationed as a medical officer among a group of people in Northern India from 1904 to 1911 and who stated that during that period he saw no cases of cancer. Even today, these people are absolutely free from such diseases as gallstones, coronary heart disease, hypertension, mental deficiencies, arthritis, polio, diabetes, and cancer. There is a documentary film being shown in Christchurch depicting these people, the Hunzas.—Yours, etC ” T. O. L. ARMSTRONG. August 3, 1964.
