Wanganella Mystery

When the former transTasman liner Wanganella reached Deep Cove from Australia nearly a year ago to become a workers’ hostel for the Manapouri power project, there were said to be 100 bottles of vodka and 100dozen small bottles of lager beer from the ship’s stores, that remained unaccounted for. For some time afterwards workers’ fishing trips, particularly to a certain location in Doubtful Sound became extremely popular. The fishermen were said to have always enjoyed their fishing outing and always came home bright and happy.
