Lottery Draw The first Mammoth Golden Kiwi lottery will be drawn in Wellington tomorrow. The organiser, Mr N. McArthur, said yesterday the early drawing date was possible because of exceptional sales and rapid receipt of returns from agents. —(P.A.) Bananas Up The retail price of bananas has been increased by Id a pound by a price order which came into effect last Friday. In the four main centres and 21 cities and boroughs, including Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Timaru, Westport, and Oamaru, they wi'l sell at Is ljd. Elsewhere the price is Is 2d. Regular Calls Auckland will be the regular calling port in New Zealand for Cogedar Line passenger ships on their world voyages, said Mr Giorgio Theophilatos, an official of the Italian company, in Auckland. The 16,000-ton Flavia will make the first call on a global trip on December 28. Another four world trips are scheduled for 1965.—-(P.A.) Family Flats To attract young families, the Onehunga Borough Council has decided to investigate a scheme to build 220 flats costing £900,000 on a council eight-acre site. Members said there was an urgent need for more young families so that schools would not be down graded. The borough was getting an influx of retired persons.—(P.A.)
