MUSICAL AT METHVEN

Is being produced by Mrs Hazel Mounsey, with Cuth Reid as musical director and Guy Goldsborough as stage manager.

“Our Miss Gibbs,” written by Lionel Monckton, concerns the fortunes of Mary Gibbs (played by Marion Barrett) when she leaves her native Yorkshire for London. Her hero is Lord Eynsford (Vai McClimont). “Cousin” Tim is played by Jack Crozier. Also in the cast are Lorraine Watson, Hugh Thompson, John Morton, Seena Spark, Roger Anderson, Dorothy Irwin, Jack Gowans, Micheal Shearer, Francis Hart, and John Mounsey. Rehearsals-have been in progress since April. The

wardrobe mistress, Jean MacMillan, has been engaged for many weeks in the large task of designing and making the costumes. The sets were designed by the producer and painted by Jim Logan and assistants. For the first time in one of its annual productions, this year’s show will be accompanied by a small orchestra.

The accompanist is Alison Crampton. In its 21 years the society has grown to a remarkable extent, having 60 members in a district with a population of about 1000. One foundation member, Mrs E. A. Mangin, has been actively connected with every performance the society has staged since it was formed.
