Fine Display Of Squash Rackets By R. G. Goodall

Another splendid performance by R. G. Goodall, a fine win by the veteran, M. R. Blank, over P. M. Hill, and a sound display by R. M. Garrett, were features of the Christchurch A grade Inter-club matches played last evening. Goodall maintained his form of the Cousins Shield contest on Saturday, easily beating the highly-ranked M. D. Grant, and Garrett, the South Island B grade champton, had his first success over the experienced G. C. P. Beadel. The leader, Uni versity A, held its five-point championship lead by beating Officers’ Club by three matches to one, but the other two con tests —Wigram again had to de fault—were decided on games in favour of University B and Christchurch A.

Points are: University A 20. Christchurch A 15, University B 13, Collegiate 10. Christchurch C and Officers’ Club t, Christchurch B 4, Wigram 0.

Strength In the top piavtng positions enabled University B to beat Christchurch C, after

J. G. Foulds had lost the last three games to E. R. Morris when leading 2-0. and R D Monk had beaten T. L. Williams also in five.

Results were: University B 10 games, Christ church C 6.
