SOUTHLAND CEMENT

1500 Tons To Auckland (N.Z. Prill Asiociation) INVERCARGILL, July 19; Southland Cement Company, Ltd., cement sales for this year were up on the corresponding period the previous year, the general manager (Mr C. R. Radford) said today. Increased sales were not wholly attributable though to the northern demand for cement. Mr Radford said that in about the last month about 1500 tons of cement had been sent by the company to the Auckland area, fulfilling all orders to date. Local sales, influenced by the comparatively good weather, had been particularly good for this time of year. The company’s financial year ends this month.

Lov, Construction.—Directors of Love Construction Company, Ltd., Dunedin, recommend an unchanged ordinary dividend of 6 per cent, payable July 24; ex dividend yesterday.—(P.A.)
