Italy’s four Centre Left parties reached agreement yesterday on the programme for a new coalition government, led by Mr Aldo Moro, after a meeting lasting over 12 hours. The previous coalition government under Mr Moro resigned on June 26 after six months in office when the Christian Democrats, the largest party in Parliament, met united opposition on the schools issue from the lay parties.
