DEFENCE OF THE AMERCA’S CUP.—American Eagle (US21), one of the two possible defenders for the America’s Cup, crossing the starting line before Constellation (US20), during trials held off Newport, Rhode Island. It was the first time the two yachts had raced against each other during the present series of trials. The American Eagle won this trial.
