WELLINGTON, July 1. The most numerous claims received during the year by the Earthquake and War Damage Commission for extraordinary damage through storm and flood came from a storm affecting Southland, Otago, and South Canterbury on March 24 this year, according to the' report of the commission tabled in Parliament today. This storm produced 228 claims of a total of 2226.

The deficit for the year’s working is estimated conservatively as £107,854 in this section.
