Literary Awards
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 1. The Auckland novelist Janet Frame has won the Hubert Church award of £lOO for her book “Scented Gardens for the Blind,”- the P.E.N. New Zealand centre announced today. Mr Gordon Challis, of Hastings, has won the Jessie Mackay award of £5O for verse for “Building.” The awards were subsidised by the Literary Fund Advisory Committee.
