Tunnellers working on the tail-race project at Deep Cove will make an attempt on the world record footage later in the year. The project manager at Deep Cove from Utah-Wil-liamson-Burnett, Mr J. D. Kimsey, said yesterday he had the calibre of men and modern machinery to crack the world record for this size of tunnel. The world record footage for a 30ft diameter tunnel, which is held jointly in Australia and the United States, is about 70ft every 24 hours.
