FREE LOVE

Danish Youth Warned

(By Susan Vaughan] Are the young people of the West allowed too much? Many older people say so, but it comes as a mild surprise when a girl echoes their views. She is Ulla Dahlerup, aged 21, who is running a campaign in Copenhagen to alert young Danes to the dangers of free love. Miss Dahlerup, a sociologist and the daughter of a theologian, uses for propaganda some of the staggering facts state of Denmark’s love life. “The number of unwanted babies is a national disaster,” she says. “Young girls so often start a way of life that can only lead to cynicism and despair. Clinics are packed with children about to become mothers.”

Miss Dahlerup says school doctors should provide contraceptive devices for all girl pupils who want them. It is a proposal which is winning support among the young people of Denmark.—Central Press. (All rights reserved.)
