LEAVING TODAY
. “Miss New Zealand” (N.Z. Press Astociation) DUNEDIN, June 29. “Miss New Zealand,” Lyridal Cruickshank, will leave Auckland tomorrow morning for Australia on the first stage of an extended tour through the Far East and Honolulu. Miss Cruickshank, at present in Invercargill, will fly to Auckland on Monday, where she will be entertained at a mayoral reception and later, an evening send-off arranged by the manager of the airline with which she Will travel.
She will spend two days in Australia, stay in Hong Kong for three days, Japan for four days, Honolulu (where she arrives on July 9), for three days and meets some Southeast Asian and Pacific contestants for “Miss Universe” and on July 12 the group will arrive in New York.
On July 23, the girls will reach Miami, where the contest is held between July 21 and August 3.
