I. DRAYTON INJURED
Changes In S.L League Team
The Canterbury second-row forward. I. T. Drayton, will not play for the South Island against the North Island at Christchurch on Saturday. Drayton suffered a broken cheek bone while playing for Hornby against Papanui last Saturday. Last year, when selected as a South Island reserve, he was injured • a week before the game. C. W. Clark (West Coast), who was originally named as the reserve forward, will replace Drayton as C. ,L. Mo Master’s partner in the second row. The new reserve forward is T. L. Bisman (Canterbury). Drayton was injured in a tackle by D. R. Stephen as he attempted to score the try that would have taken his club points total past the century mark. He underwent an operation at Burwood Hospital yesterday. Drayton has scored 114 points in all matches this season, including 98 in club games. The injury is a blow to Drayton’s hopes of being selected for N w Zealand this season as the inter-island match is also the final trial.
