The M.C.C., ruling body of English cricket, has warned school boy players against imitating their test heroes and fielding close to the bat. In a letter to schools it recalled the death last season of a 13-year-old boy hit on the throat while fielding at silly point. Boy cricketers, it said, should always field 20 feet from the bat, except in slip positions.—London, June 28.
