Books Damaged By Water
Water flooding in the Flamingo Restaurant, upstairs at 111 Hereford street, yesterday caused some damage to stock in a bookshop below the restaurant in Strand lane.
The fire brigade answered a call at 8.45 a.m. to protect the stock by covering it with tarpaulins. The flood was caused by a blocked pipe in the restaurant’s conveniences.
