HELICOPTER FLIGHTS
150 Ordered For Army (Special Crspdt NZP A ) LONDON, June 29 Armoured reconnaissance regiments of the British Army and other front-line units are being progressively equipped with their own helicopters and light planes The flights, numbering from three to six aircraft will be composed, first, of Agusta-Bell 47G helicopters, complemented perhaps by Austers or Beavers and. later, by their successors The 47G is a light threeman helicopter designed and built in America.
The army will have 150 he icopters. of which the first 50 will come from an Italian firm which builds them under licence.
The rest will be built in Britain.
The first 47Gs will be used in Aden and Borneo, mainly for reconnaissance.
