AUCKLAND, June 28.
Three Auckland “oldtimers” showed youth the way at the week-end when they played table tennis for 50 hours and seven minutes. Over the last two months there have been a number of team and individual attempts to break what has become known as the world endurance table tennis record. Teams of players in Auckland and Wellington, aged from 16 to 23, have played for more than 37 hours recently and a 16-
year-old boy from Kaitaia lasted 48 hours in a solo attempt But this team that topped them all is K. Conway, aged 38, K. Matthews, aged 32, and R. Campbell, aged 25, all married. All are members of the Glenfield Table Tennis Club. They played at the Glenfield Hall, starting at 8 a.m. on Friday. A fourth member, N. Stevenson, aged 22, dropped out after 16 hours, with fobt trouble.
