CALL DRAMA FESTIVAL
South Island Finalists
The South Brighton C.WI drama circle has wen the South Island final of the drama festival held annually by the Dominion Federation of Country ■Women's Institutes. This was announced yesterday by the secretary of the drama circle (Mrs W. A. Hodgkinson) who said the team will compete against the North Island finalist in Wellington on July 22. This is the seventh time the South Brighton drama circle has entered the festival. It has been placed several times in area festivals, and last year was only half a point behind the South Island finalists. The play with which the team has reached the Dominion finals this year is “Funeral Dance,” by David Compton. The players are Mesdames Eita Broadbelt, Rene Pitman, Lou Lavender. Sally Milligan and Daphne Milburn. Mrs Milburn is also the producer.
