Box 5067, Wellington. 5023 INDIGENOUS MILLING TIMBER FOR SALE NELSON CONSERVANCY (1) The Conservator of Forests, Nelson, invites written tenders for the purchase of an annual supply of timber for 20 years from State Forest 127 and/ or other State Forests in the locality. (2) The timber under offer Is an annual supply of 320,000 cu. ft. of podocarp species and a sufficient quantity of beech species to give an annual sawn output qf approximately 1,000,000 board feet. (3) Initially tenders are invited for Sawmilling Area 564 which is situated in Block I, Reefton Survey District, and is estimated to contain some 461,670 cubic feet of podocarp species approximately 50 per cent of which is Rimu and Miro. (5) Preference will be’ given to tenders from sawmiilers prepared to operate in the Reefton District such plant as may be necessary to process and remanufacture at least 80 per cent of the rough sawn timber produced from all species, and also prepared ■to develop improved conversion practices in bush and mill. Tenderers must therefore submit full particulars of their proposals which will be taken Into account when tenders are being considered. (6) Tenders marked “Tender for S.A. 564” and accompanied by a marked or bank cheque for £250, must be in sealed envelopes addressed to the Conservator of Forests, Nelson, with whom they close at noon on July 31, 1964. (7) The sale is subject to usual terms and Conditions particulars of which are available from the Conservator. (8) Highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
