CROSSING SMASH
Former P.M. Injured (N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DIJON (Eastern France), June 28. Three people were killed end a former French Prime Minister, Mr Rene Mayer, and 32 others were injured when the Paris-Milan luxury Cisalpin express smashed into a tar lorry at an unguarded level crossing. The crash killed the drivers of the train and the lorry and a Swiss passenger in the first coach.
A hospital spokesman said three Americans, four Swiss and two Italians were among those injured and burnt by molten tar.
Mr Mayer was not seriously hurt
