SHARING OF WEALTH
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 28. The British Prime Minister (Sir Alec Douglas-Home) will seek agreement on ways of closing the gap between the rich and poor nations of the Commonwealth when its 18 leaders meet from July 8 to 15. He sees this as the first step towards tackling the problem of the growing division of the world between the richer nations of the north and the poorer countries of the south.
Sir Alec Douglas-Home has recently repeatedly warned of the danger of a racial division of the world on horizontal lines, which he says would be “far more terrible than anything we have faced in the history of the world.”
