Anteater’s Diet

The first giant anteater to be brought to this country arrived at the Auckland zoo yesterday from the United States. Auckland’s ants need have no fears. A special diet chart has been sent from the animal’s former home at the Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago. It includes minced meat, bananas, hard-boiled eggs, honey and molasses, tinned milk, baby food, and a drop or two of peanut oil. This variety of anteater grows up to four feet long and stands two feet high at the shoulder.
