R. Durant is still playing consistently good games for Rangers in the senior soccer competition. At inside-forward he strives constantly to weld his team into an attacking force and it is no fault of his that his accurate distribution of the ball has not had the success it deserves.

Apart from G. A. Davidson, who has won all his seven matches in straight games, the only unbeaten A grade squash player this season is the present New Zealand C grade champion, S. Suckling. The Woolston senior hockey team would be very much less effective without the stabilising influence of its centre-half, R. Gillespie. The re-instatement of P. Hubrich to the amateur ranks in ski-ing has been confirmed by members of the New Zealand Ski Association’s council. The secretary of the Canterbury association (Mr C. R. Halstead) said that official confirmation had not been received in writing but he had received verbal confirmation from two council members. living in Christchurch. Hubrich, a former professional instructor from Germany, is a really top-line skier, and he is expected to be far ahead of his local rivals.
