PERIODICALS
Aumla No. 21. May, 1964. 148 PPAumla, the journal of the Australasian Universities Language and Literature Association, contains papers on Old and Modern French. Middle and Modern English. German and Greek literature, and one on Greek language. The authors they deal with are Voltaire, Euripides, Tristan de Nanteuil, Sophocles, Gryphius, Malraux, and Thackeray. The first article, on a play by Voltaire, indicates within its subject the value of so bringing together various specialised literary studies in one journal, since Voltaire uses a story from a Greek source adapted by Italian and English as well as French writers before him. The journal contains 60 pages of book reviews giving information on, and evaluation of, current new works in literary and linguistic studies.
