CHALLENGE TO F.O.L.
Chairman Of Dairy Board (N.Z. Press Association? WELLINGTON, June 26. “I would like to address a few words to Mr Skinner, president of the Federation of Labour,” said Sir Andrew Linton, chairman of the Dairy Board, at the Dominion dairy conference in Wellington today. “We do not attack the workers, yet he seems determined to attack the dairy farmers. Will Mr Skinner, on behalf of the Federation of Labour, agree that the ruling rate for wages today should be the rate that applied. 10 years ago, increased only by the increased efficiency of output per worker since that time? .
‘That is exactly the position of the dairy farmer with the price of butterfat, except that the price of butterfat is now lower than 10 years ago. “And I challenge Mr Skinner to prove otherwise, or to accept the comparison for his workers,” said Sir Andrew Linton.
