FISHING, NOT WARSHIPS
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) GOTEBORG (Sweden), June 25. The Soviet Premier, Mr Khrushchev, said in a speech to shipyard workers today that the Soviet Union had stopped building battleships and cruisers “which would have no real importance in a nuclear war.
“Instead we are building fishing boats and merchant ships, to raise the standard of living of the Soviet people,” he said.
Missing.—-G-men are hunting a bank teller who did not return from a coffee break yesterday—and for 188,440 dollars that disappeared at the same time.—Oakland, June 25.
