Hair-Net For Prince Charles

(N.Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 26. The British Safety Council is to send Prince Charles he sports a “near-Beatle haircut,” they say—a hair-net. The council declared that his hair-cut was causing them “extreme worry.” Although not as outrageous as that of Screaming Lord Sutch, his example was—“regrettably”—more likely to be followed.

Prince Charles tops the Beatles in a list uf 12 persons who, says the council, have the most potentially danger ous hair-cuts by example. The hair-net will arrive mounted on an illustration of Absalom—the third son of King David—hanging by his hair from a tree. (Absalom was killed by his enemies after being trapped by his hair in a tree.) The council has created the "Absalom award" to pin point the vastly increasing numbers of industrial accidents caused by long hair. The council says: "Long,

shaggy, girlish hair-dos such as those of the Rolling Stones (a British pop group) if imitated on the factory floor can result in scalping and other serious head injuries, through hair catching in machines or obscuring vision." In their list of awards the Rolling Stones occupy the first five places. "These people’s girlish hair-styles are a damnable menace," said Mr James Tye, the council controller. The others on the list—in order—are: the pop singer. Screaming Lord Sutch: the comedian, Ken Dodd; Prince Charles; the Beatles; the

wrestler, Steve Logan; the comedian, Charlie Drake; and the test cricketer, Freddie Trueman. At the. same time ft is reported .from London that a way o> covering up bald patches has been discovered, according to a plastic surgeon writing in “Family Doctor." “The method,” the writer said, “is rather like returfing a lawn.” The writer is a Harley street specialist, Mr Phillip Lebon. He revealed that a New York skin specialist had transplantel healthy blocks of hair from the back of someone's head to parts which were going bald. V
