RED ROOF LIGHTS
Use By Patrols Favoured
Revolving red dome lights for use on the patrol vehicles of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) are favoured by the association’s roads, patrols, and service committee, a meeting of the association’s council was told last evening. The committee’s report, which was adopted, recommended the lights be adopted for on the association’s vehicles.
At a meeting of the committee it had also been decided red reflecting triangles were not sufficiently effective. The meeting was told a patrol officer had recently placed a triangle on the road, and it was immediately run over and smashed by an oncoming car.
