TRADING STAMPS
Opposition In
N.S.W.
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) SYDNEY, June 25. The Retail Traders’ Association this week urged members to resist the introduction of trading stamp systems in New South Wales. It also called on the State Government to legislate against the Introduction of trading stamp systems. The association said New South Wales was the only state without legislation prohibiting third party coupon systems.
Australian stamp companies have been showing rising interest in the opportunities offered for the development of trading stamp schemes in the N.S.W. retail market, it said. “The pernicious implications of coupon trading are only too well known to retailers, who had experience of them before the war.”
