RECORD FLIGHT FROM NORTH CAPE TO BLUFF.—The 18-year-old pilot, Colin Glasgow, of Pukekohe, with his father and flying companion, Mr Ray Glasgow, at Invercargill on Thursday after making a record flight from North Cape to Bluff in a Mooney Super 21 aircraft. The time taken for the 1168-mile flight was 6hr 35min—nearly an. hour less than the previous record time. After taking off from Kaitaia, the aircraft circled the North Cape lighthouse at 8.36 a.m., reached Bluff at 3.11 p.m., and landed at Invercargill a few minutes later. A refuelling stop was made at Woodbourne.
