Moon Diseases Possible
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HOUSTON, June 17.
An American scientist said yesterday he would officially recommend that astronauts returning from trips to the moon be quarantined for at least three weeks “for the protection of everybody.” The danger, said Dr. R. M. Lemmon, of Berkely, California, is that the space-men may pick up on the moon disease-causing organisms “which may be totally different from anything we have here on earth.”
Dr. • Lemmon, a chemist and member of a special biosciences panel, said the quarantine recommendation would be made to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in September.
