Burglars’ £600 Haul
About £6OO worth of engineering tools, including gas and electric welding plants, cutting tools, a trailer, and three gas cylinders, were stolen when premises of C. D. Rudd, Ltd., farmers’ supplies merchant, Springs road, were broken into on Wednesday night. The police fear that the stolen welding plants and cutting tools may be used for breaking into safes. A door was forced to gain entry, and a padlock on the workshop, used by Selwyn Engineers, Ltd., was broken. The stolen equipment, including numerous tools, an electric motor, double - end grinder, two sheets of steel, and an electric heater, was piled on to the trailer, which was towed away by a car.
