Last Match Gives Wallabies Win

Wallabies Red moved up to second place by defeating Selwyn I, 14 games to 13, in a tightly-contested match in the ninth round of the senior table tennis competition.

M. A. Cox and N. B. Radford assisted their team by beating Mrs T. May and A. Vermes but were unmatched against the hard-hitting V. N. Brightwell. The match was decided by the last doubles when Cox and Radford beat the Canterbury champions, Brightwell and . Vermes. H. P. Holt (Star) had one of his most notable wins when he beat T. R. D. Flint, and another upset was the win by Miss F. Inglis over the leading representative player, Mrs P. M. Purdon.

Eagles 11, after being down 6-1 against Dallington, made a surprise recovery to win 15-13 on games. P. J. Wylie showed improved form to beat P. J. Ives and P. Grainger hut lost a vital match against B. T. Edwrads. Results:—
