DRIVERS’ licences which expire on June 30. 1964, may be renewed at the County Office, Leeston, during office hours after June 1, 1964. Holders of licences previously Issued by the Springs County Council, Ellesmere County Council and Selwyn County Council (residents of Rakala Riding) may renew their licences by post, provided the current licence is enclosed, together with the prescribed fee of 5s for each year of renewal and a stamped, addressed envelope for return. Licences may be renewed for any number of years up to five. Personal application must be made by drivers required to produce a medical certificate or holding a licence issued by any other local authority. TESTING OF DRIVERS AGED 70 YEARS AND OVER Testing of drivers 70 years of age and over will be conducted on the following days and at the following places. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE A GENERAL RATE under Sections 40 and 44 of The Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920. IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that It is the intention of the Christchurch Transport Board at a Special Meeting of the Board to be held in the Board Room, Cathedral square, Christchurch, at 12.30 p.m. on Monday, 15th June, 1964, to make a General Rate of .03086 pence in the pound on the Capital Value of all rateable property in the Christchurch Transport District for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1964, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1965, and to confirm as a Special Order at a subsequent meeting of .the Board the resolution so passed, such rate as adjusted in terms of the Valuation Equalisation Act, 1957, to be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the Riccarton Borough Council and the Waimairi, Heathcote, Paparua and Halswell County Councils within their respective districts and to be payable in one sum on the days respectively appointed by the said Local Bodies for the payment of rates for their respective districts.
