Small Unions Praised

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, May 28. The president of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E. Skinner) believes small unions give better personal service to their members than large organisations which concentrate power in the hands of a few. Commenting on criticism by a London bus conductor and trade unionist, Mr J. R. Hunt, Mr Skinner said today that the success or otherwise of unions must be judged on achievement

“If this rule is applied .to \ New Zealand unionism, then we can be justly proud of what has been gained,” he | said.
